Sticky Pictures has partnered with Kid Glove Creative, the development division of production, distribution and rights management company, Kid Glove, for the development and production of Perry Parka Polar Possum, a delightful new animated comedy series for 6-9 year olds.
Perry Parka Polar Possum tells the tale of Perry Parka, Mayor of the North Pole and a possum who sees everything as possible. Where others see danger, folly or just a crazy idea, Perry turns it upside down, which is the right side up for him, and leaps into action. The series is created by prolific children’s author / illustrator / cartoonist James Proimos (Swim, Knuckle and Potty Destroy Happy World, Generation O!) together with multi-award-winning producer / illustrator / animator Carlson Bull.
“Perry Parker Polar Possum is a remarkable character. He’s an innocent optimist who sees the world through rose-colored glasses and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt,” said Kid Glove President Brenda Wooding. “We are thrilled to be working with Sticky Pictures on this creative new comedy and look forward to delivering a series worthy of the Sticky reputation for high quality entertainment for children.”
Donna Andrews, CEO & Partner of Sticky Pictures, agrees: “I’m in love with Perry Parka Polar Possum! The series is quirky, funny, very charming and indeed like no other. It is a joy to be working with the talented James Proimos, Carlson Bull and the team at Kid Glove.”
Perry Parka Polar Possum sparks a new collaboration between Kid Glove and Sticky Pictures to co-produce quality children’s entertainment for the global marketplace.
About the Creators
James Proimos has written and/or illustrated over twenty highly acclaimed books for children and young adults for publishers that include Scholastic, HarperCollins, Random House and more. Swim Swim, Knuckle and Potty Destroy Happy World, and the Johnny Mutton series are among his list of titles. In a starred review Publishers Weekly called his recent novel, 12 Things to Do Before You Crash and Burn, “Hilarious, heartbreaking, and triumphant.” He has sold screenplays to Nickelodeon and Starz, and co-created the television show Generation O! for the WB. Most famously he is the man Suzanne Collins’ novel The Hunger Games is dedicated to. And illustrating her next book is one of his most high profile new projects.
Since the founding of Bully! Entertainment in 2006, Carlson Bull has ruled an unbelievably talented crew of animators, illustrators and programmers with an iron fist. His tyrannical leadership style has led to work with brands ranging from Disney, PBS Kids and Nickelodeon, to Nestle, NASA and Fisher-Price, to Ford, VW and Audi. Focused on creative content development, Bully! approaches projects from a character and story perspective and delivers across broadcast, web and mobile platforms. Their work has garnered numerous Addy and Telly awards, a Webby, a Promaxbda and an Emmy – and, most importantly, the thumbs up of Carlson's five kids.
